This week Dilyana was delighted to welcome Ambika Devi for an enlightening conversation about how meditation and specifically focused breathing can help to alleviate some of the common symptoms of perimenopause & menopause and help women get better sleep. A master Yogi, author, astrologer, and teacher, Ambika has been studying meditation from the age of six. 
In this conversion Dilyana and Ambika discuss some of the basics of achieving a meditative state and dispel some of the myths about the practice of meditation. In addition to discussing the relationship between sleep and breathing, Ambika also points out some simple breathing techniques for relaxation and controlling your body temperature.

In this episode, Dilyana was excited to welcome Vanessa Nixon Klein. Vanessa is a traditional naturopath, master herbalist, and homeopath with a passion for helping women who are in midlife reframe this crucial time in their life as a spiritual initiation into this impactful transition through natural health, natural beauty, and natural movement. Vanessa shares her inspiring story of how through natural medicine, she was able to heal her body from a chronic respiratory condition. This experience led Vanessa to study herbal medicine and homeopathic techniques so she could share this information with women from all walks of life, leading them through a process of mind and body healing.
In addition to unpacking the work that Vanessa does through her company Herbs of Grace, she also shares how a lifelong love for the art of belly dancing has inspired her to teach other women about  the value of this incredibly historical and body-positive practice. Vanessa hopes to dispel some of the stereotypes about the art form while building community with fellow women who are enjoying the spiritual, physical, and psychological benefits that come from dance. 
About Vanessa:
Vanessa Nixon Klein’s story began in the 1990s when she was able to heal herself of chronic bronchitis through the study of natural medicine, a change to a natural diet, and the addition of medicinal herbs. A couple of years later she took a formal course of study in Herbal Medicine with Cascade Anderson Geller, a well-known herbalist in Portland, Oregon. After taking more classes and finishing advanced courses, but unsure of how to put her new-found knowledge to best use and not entirely comfortable asking people to put their health into her hands, Vanessa realized she had a genuine desire to work with herbs. A few brainstorming sessions later that included a serendipitous class in herbal soap making, she started a business handcrafting herbal soaps and skin care products, and soon after Herbs of Grace was born.
